Obama and Joe Biden

Former President Barack Obama returned to the White House today to crack some jokes at the expense of Vice President Joe Biden, continuing the White House’s largest bromance in history. It was a triumphant homecoming for Obama, who had missed mounting the stage in the White House press room. Obama, accompanied by Vice President Kamala Harris and now-President Joe Biden, began his speech by calling Biden the ‘vice president,’ but clarified that he was joking. However, the entire press corps was ecstatic to see Barack return to the White House. The primary purpose of his return after a 5-year absence was to discuss the Affordable Care Act (ACA), but he didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to make a few jokes. Obama’s delivery was snappy, and he also had a couple more amusing observations.

“Thank you vice president Biden, vice president,” Obama said as everyone chuckled as he walked up to the platform in the middle of applause. He laughed and said, “That was a joke.” “Since my last visit, I’ve heard the current president has made some adjustments. Secret Service agents are now required to wear aviator glasses, according to reports. A Baskin Robbins has taken the place of the Navy mess. There’s also a cat scurrying around. I’m sure Bo and Sunny would have been furious about it. Returning, even if I have to wear a tie, which I rarely do these days, will offer me the opportunity to meet some of the wonderful people who serve this White House and our country every day.”

Biden joins in on the joke and adds his own twist

President Joe Biden wanted to join in on the joke after Obama’s address on the Affordable Care Act, so he acknowledged he was Obama’s vice president. When the Affordable Care Act was passed, a ‘hot mic’ caught Obama telling Biden, “This is a big f—ing deal!” And the current president brought up Obama’s humiliating moment: “My name is Joe Biden, and I’m Vice President Barack Obama’s running mate. Mr. President, welcome back to the White House. It’s like going back in time. Let me remind you, Barack, that this is a hot mic.” In the end, Obama’s visit was successful in allowing him to issue a new executive order strengthening the Affordable Care Act.
